Is there anything else?”
“Yes,” she said, leaning forward. “Kiss me.”
He nearly choked and crumbled the hundred in his hand. “W-what?”
“You heard me, Benjamin. I want to know what it’s like. I want you to know what it’s
like. Just kiss me once and I swear I’ll leave you alone.”
“Go home, Hannah. You’re crazy.”
“Benjamin. One kiss never hurt anyone.”
“I’m telling you, go home. I won’t do it. Even if you somehow managed to prove to me
that you’ve changed – I wouldn’t believe you. I can’t believe you.”
“There has to be something I can do.”
With a smirk, he reached into his shirt and pulled out a thin chain hanging from his
neck. It wasn’t anything particularly special, just a simple silver chain with an old ring
hanging from it. It looked tarnished but Hannah could see immediately how much it meant to
him. “Yeah,” he said with a sarcastic grin. “When you get a hold of my great-grandmother’s
necklace, I’m all yours.”
