Seven hundred years ago, disaster forced humanity to abandon Earth. Life on the colony ship New Edinburgh is all sixteen-year-old Lilliane, the best programmer in her year at the Institute, has ever known. A week ago, Lilliane woke up in a life-pod. Its destination? Earth itself. Because it's time to rebuild. It's up to Lilliane and the four other survivors of the New Edinburgh to reclaim humanity's ancestral home. Today, the life pod arrived at Lady Diana--the lunar holding station that was once the luxury holiday destination for Earth’s super-rich. It’s supposed to be a good place. A safe place. Not anymore. Today, Lady Di is a battlefield. Because while Lilliane and her friends thought they they were the only humans left, somebody else got to Lady Di first. And he will stop at nothing to keep Lilliane from ever getting to Earth.

Guest Post : A day in the life of Lilliane

Dear Diary,

I know it’s lights out, and I’ll pay for this tomorrow during PT. But well, I’ve just got the tell you. The bomb dropped today. Yep, the big one. The profound waste of oxygen, also known as Balsaine, broke up with Tomain.

She did it on holofeeds, simultaneously broadcasted throughout the Ark, while hanging on the arms of what’s-his-name. You know whom I mean. The hot new stud on “These Endless Stars”, that mindless ‘reality’ show catering to the walking brain-dead.

She had the gall to say that they’ve been dating for almost two years. Diary, she was dating my brother right up until she uploaded that holofeed. Which means she’s been cheating on Tomain this entire time. Or she’s lying just to get the nomination to be the Queen of Love and Beauty – as if winning an entry to a stupid beauty pageant is worth breaking Tomain’s heart. Both are equally possible. Because she’s just that EVIL!

I don’t know what Tomain ever saw in her.

For that matter, I don’t know what what’s-his-name sees in Balsaine either. She’s just graduated from the Institute, so an association with her can’t translate to that big a boost for his so-called career.

I’ll bet she’s got something on him. That’s her MO, you know. She’ll get some dirt on you, and get you to do whatever she wants. That was her MO while she was still here anyway. Small wonder she was the star of the Institute’s counter-intelligence stream.

Oops: I’m not supposed to say that, am I? No one is supposed to know our specialties. Good thing you’re so well encrypted, no one else can read you. Well, Daddy might. But Daddy already knows all our specialties, being Institute Director and all, and I’ll bet he hates her as much as I do.

Diary, I’m worried about Tomain. He’s so devoted to her, and he seems to be taking this calmly. Too calmly. Okay, I know, he’s always appears calm in public. Part of our training is to present a controlled, collected visage, yada-yada-yada. I know all that. But he’s my twin, Diary. I always know what he’s thinking and feeling, despite how well he hides that in front of other people. I’m not other people.

I’m never other people.

Except this time.

Diary, I keep trying to find time to talk to him. Just talk. But he keeps ducking me. And I have a really bad feeling about all this. Like something horrible is going to happen.
I’m scared.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow, I’ll pretend to go to class as usual, and then I’ll sneak back to be with him. Then I’ll spend the day with him until he tells me what is going on with him. I’ll stick to him like white on rice. I know he’ll hate it, and maybe even me, but I won’t care.
Something is about to happen. I can just feel it.

Okay, my portable blacklight is about to give out. Good night, Diary. And wish me #lucktomorrow.
