Synopsis via Goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Morgan Daniel has been in the witness protection program most of her life. But The Panteras have caught up with her and her younger brother. Her car is totaled, she's hurt, and the street gang is closing in when wolves with glowing eyes appear out of nowhere and chase away the killers.
Then a very cute guy who handles a bow like Robin Hood emerges from the woods and takes them to safety at his fortress-like home.
And that's just the first sign that Morgan and her brother have entered a hidden world filled with secrets...
Authors Interview
Where do your ideas come from?
Dreams, waking and sleeping. My passion for the past and those who’ve gone before us is a great source of inspiration. I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where my Scots-Irish ancestors were among the earliest settlers. My family is steeped in history. I’m also fascinated with fantasy. Ideas simmer in my mind, sometimes for years, before I write a word. This is the case with The Hunter’s Moon.

How do you develop your writing ideas?
I must know the characters, what they would and wouldn’t do, and listen well. When writing historicals, only so much is possible. With fantasy, there’s no limit. My favorite is a mix of both genres, plus mystery and romance. Romance is central in my stories.
Where do you find inspiration for your characters?
Characters speak to me while I’m asleep or awake. They tug at the corners of my mind or appear center stage. Some are inspired by people I know or have known, or historical figures, and actors…
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Since young adulthood, but I didn’t go after it in a big way until I was married with kids. My ‘do this or die trying’ motto has been in place for the past 20 years. Many computers have perished in the effort.
How has your writing career changed since you started?
I penned, by hand, short nonfiction pieces about country life, and evolved to researching and writing historical/paranormal romance novels. I’ve taken that solid basis for my work and embarked into YA.
What does your writing process look like?
I’m on the couch with my laptop, two dogs, and five cats. But the kitties come and go.
What are your writing goals for the next year?
Finish my work in progress, and the next. It’s always that.
Name the five biggest distractions from your writing.
My family, human and furbabies, my passion for gardening, movies, and Facebook.
What character would you most like to be stuck in an elevator with?
Not the ghosts. I’m partial to the cool Native American dudes.
Some Get to know me Questions
What’s the best vacation you ever had?
Vacations are few and far between. I live on a farm with many animals and gardens.
What’s your favourite rainy day movie?
Where do I begin? Probably a series. Lord of the Rings, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or something easy going like The Middle. I also love British mysteries, like Sherlock.
If you could be any age again for a week, which would you choose and why?
Ten was good. I’d live in my treehouse, watch clouds, and eat the snacks my mom sent up in the basket I lowered with a rope.
If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, what would it be?
I’d probably try to prevent some tragedy. I don’t suppose anyone would believe me if I insisted the Titanic was going down.
What's your favourite place to read?
Snuggled in my bed.
If you had a million dollars, what would be the first thing you would buy?
Pay off the debt on our farm. It’s been in the family for five generations.
My best piece of advice: Never give up on anything you truly love.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Married to my high school sweetheart, I live on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia surrounded by my children, grandbabies, and assorted animals. An avid gardener, my love of herbs and heirloom plants figures into my work. The rich history of Virginia, the Native Americans and the people who journeyed here from far beyond her borders are at the heart of my inspiration. In addition to American settings, I also write historical and time travel romances set in the British Isles, and nonfiction about gardening, herbal lore, and country life.
