Scarlett Lewis, an ordinary grade school teacher, is so absorbed in hopelessness after her fiancĂ©e leaves her that she doesn’t realize the United States is succumbing to a horrific pandemic. The Super-Summer Flu is sweeping the nation; meanwhile, Scarlett mopes around her condo.
Until . . . she begins to notice the bizarre events unraveling around her.
During her desperate search to find her sister and the rest of civilization, she meets other survivors (Dean, Justin, LuLu, and Paxton) who may not have her best interests at heart. With hope as her last weapon of defense, Scarlett must learn how to survive in this Creeper-infested world without sacrificing her own humanity.
Travel with Scarlett on her perilous journey through California as she discovers the dark fate of the human race.
My Thoughts:

When Scarlett Lewis's fiancee leaves her, she is so absorbed in her own woes, and under the influence of pain killers from her teeth extraction, that she fails to realise there is a pandemic happening in the US. The flu is the worse the world has seen and everyone who catches it dies, but they don't stay dead!!  When Scarlett finally realises what is happening, she goes in search of her family and any survivours she can find.

This was such an awesome read, an what made it awesome was the characters. This author created some pretty memorable ones and ones that are easily likable. They were well written and developed and I pretty much liked them all, except for the brothers, they were just bad!!!

The plot was fairly fast paced and entertaining. I liked that Scarlett didn't have a clue what was going on at first and enjoyed seeing her grow throughout. I liked the Zombies too and how they came about, and how they were throughout. I was impressed that this is this authors first book, as it was well written and developed. If this is what she can do, then I look forward to more!

In all, an enjoyable Zombie book, filled with memorable characters and one that will leave you wanting more. Can't wait to see what else this author can do.
