Fractured by Erin Hayes Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Welcome to my stop on the Fractured Blog Tour! This book sounds amazing and I hope you enjoy the excerpt. Let me know your thoughts on it!!

Fractured by Erin Hayes
Publication date: July 8th 2014
Genres: Adult, Horror

Synopsis:

Blinded by a mysterious seizure when she was three years old, Bash Martin has managed to carve out a normal life for herself as an adult. Yet she still yearns for a deeper connection with her twin sister Lily, who has always been jealous of the attention their parents bestowed upon Bash due to her disability.

A dream vacation seems like the perfect chance to heal their relationship, but Bash soon realizes there is something terribly wrong with Lily and that her sister is hiding a dark secret. And when a supernatural fire engulfs their hotel and corpses come back to life, the sisters are plunged into a nightmarish world that threatens not only their lives, but their very souls.

Excerpt :

Lily’s thoughts drifted back to Seth, and her heart ached thinking about it. He treated her like some sort of stranger now too. Like he hadn’t arrived that night to see her. Like there wasn’t any sort of connection between them.

She thought back to their impending ski trip in two weeks’ time and wondered yet again why she agreed to go along. Maybe it was because Bash had allowed her to choose where they would go and offered to pay her way. Maybe it had to do with the fact that Seth was going.

She combed her fingers through her hair. The tears really were forcing their way down her cheeks now. Nothing felt fair to her.

Liii—iiiillyy.

Shut up! she screamed mentally. Unfortunately, the voice wouldn’t hear of it. She’s marrying him, Lily. Him. Your soul mate.

She was trying not to listen to the voice. It was just very difficult to ignore its insistence sometimes.

“No,” she whispered. “No, they’re not getting married.”

There was no way they were getting married. Bash would’ve at least told her that. Right? And with the ski trip to Colorado coming up soon... No, they wouldn’t be getting married. They’d only known each other six months for Christ’s sake.

You’ll see, the voice said smugly. You’ll see. You’ve failed us Lii—illlly...

She rubbed her palms to her eyes, feeling her soul break at the admission. All she wanted her entire life was to be loved. Now, she really was never going to have her happy ending.

A rustling sound made her glance up into the trees, which were swaying even harder now, despite the lack of wind, like an invisible person was shaking them. She frowned, feeling an overwhelming sense of negativity sweep over her. She shivered involuntarily.

You’ll see.

A year ago Hurricane Josephine swept through Savannah, Georgia, leaving behind nothing but death and destruction — and taking the life of Dovey's best friend, Carly. Since that night, Dovey has been in a medicated haze, numb to everything around her.

But recently she's started to believe she's seeing things that can't be real ... including Carly at their favorite cafe. Determined to learn the truth, Dovey stops taking her pills. And the world that opens up to her is unlike anything she could have imagined.

As Dovey slips deeper into the shadowy corners of Savannah — where the dark and horrifying secrets lurk — she learns that the storm that destroyed her city and stole her friend was much more than a force of nature. And now the sinister beings truly responsible are out to finish what they started.

Dovey's running out of time and torn between two paths. Will she trust her childhood friend Baker, who can't see the threatening darkness but promises to never give up on Dovey and Carly? Or will she plot with the sexy stranger, Isaac, who offers all the answers — for a price? Soon Dovey realizes that the danger closing in has little to do with Carly ... and everything to do with Dovey herself.

My Thoughts :

When Hurricane Josephine hits, Dovey and her best friend Carly are at Carlys house. When the downstairs start to flood bith girls have no choice but to go into the attic. When they get there they huddle together to wait out the storm but suddenly a tree comes through the roof. Carly is hit and falls into the swirling waters below. Dovey is devastated by the loss of her BFF and after the funeral has to go on antipsychotic drugs.

The drugs leave her numb to everything and for the last year her life has been like living in a fog. When she is in her favourite coffee shop she looks up and suddenly sees Carly. But it cant be because Carly is dead!! Dovey puts it down to the pills and decides she needs to come off them. Now she is off the pills Dovey starts seeing weird stuff every where.  Who is the fox faced girl? Why is she seeing Carly and what is Carly trying to tell her. Dovey needs to figure things out before the bad things notice her!!

Well this was certainly not what I expected. The first thing that drew me to Servants Of the Storm was the cover. Its very creepy and intriguing, but the blurb made me want to read it even more. When I saw that Dovey was seeing her dead BFF the first thing I thought was Zombies, but it has nothing to do with them!! Its Demons, demons and more demons!!

I loved Dovey. When she loses Carly she is devastated but when she is at the funeral she really loses it. Looking into Carlys casket she sees something thats not Carly and starts screaming. Everyone thinks its simply because she just lost her BFF so Dovey is put on medication. Her life is dull for a full year until she decides its time to come off the tablets. Her courage and bravery shine through the whole way through the book. She does what needs to be done no matter the cost to her.

Isaac was the mysterious tall dark and handsome stranger!! He is a campion and even though he is told to stay away from Dovey he cant. He knows the only way he will be free is if he helps her find the answers she needs.

I loved Baker!! He was so sweet and brave and kind. He was the whole package. He was friends with both Carly and Dovey since they were small and has always had a soft spot for Dovey. He will do anything to help her even though at times he thinks she is talking crazy. He is always there for her.

Now despite liking both male characters, I hate love triangles!!! I loathe them and usually take off some stars off the rating if a book had one, BUT I didn't mind this one so much. Doveys feelings aren't so clear cut and because her head was so screwed up on the medication she hasn't a lot of interest in finding love at the moment. The fact that she doesn't place an emphasis on Isaac or Baker was OK with me.

Overall Servants Of the Storm was one heck of a ride. A non stop thrilling, action packed, demon packed book!! I loved the concept of the Hurricane being more than it seems. I loved the setting and the whole creepy atmosphere of the book. From the very first page you are transported to a dark and dangerous world where there's something scary round every bend. As for the ending!!! It was one heck of a twist and I so hope there's more to come from this series!

Forever Sheltered by Deanna Roy Book Blitz and Giveaway!

Forever Sheltered by Deanna Roy
(The Forever Series #3)
Publication date: July 23rd 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
Tina would rather sew up her girl parts with dental floss than go on a second date with a man. She’s been dumped enough to know not to get attached.

But when Dr. Darion Marks comes into her art therapy room to ask a favor for a special patient, Tina recognizes the haunted look he buries beneath his stoic professionalism. So rather than be forced to ditch the handsome doctor after a single night, she decides not to date him at all.

So how exactly DO they end up half-naked in Surgical Suite B?

Dr. Darion has a lot to hide. His baby sister is the only family he has left, and he’s not leaving her treatment to some incompetent hack.

But now he’s breaking every hospital rule imaginable. He lied about his sister so he can manage her care, and now he’s banging the art therapy teacher between patient rounds like a fraternity boy at a keg party.

Nobody believes this can end well, not Tina’s friend Corabelle, who is overcoming a tragic history much like Tina’s, or even pink-haired Jenny, who thinks sex with strangers is good for your metabolism.

But Dr. Darion and Tina have one thing going for them – a fierce passion for each other that just might obliterate all their doubts, and solve all their problems.

Forever Sheltered includes many favorite characters from Forever Innocent and Forever Loved, as well as the much-anticipated wedding of Gavin and Corabelle.

It is a standalone HEA that does not require reading any other parts of the Forever series.

Interview

Interview with a freakishly fun Book BFF

Today we’re chatting with Jenny, a character in Deanna Roy’s Forever Series, including the bestselling Forever Innocent, Forever Loved, and now Forever Sheltered, which just came out July 23.

Hair color: PINK! Of course. Oh, you mean the real stuff? No telling. I’ve been pink since I was 13. It’s probably some horrid ashy brown. The world will never know, thanks to Manic Panic. (My bathroom always looks someone just murdered Strawberry Shortcake.)

Work: I’ve been slinging coffee at Cool Beans for about six months. Recently I’ve been blowing it off due to my new movie director boyfriend. Did you see me on the celebrity gossip site! I looked DE-LISH. If I had skipped the panties, I might already be famous. (Oh, stop it. You’d do it too if you could be the talk of the nation.)

Boyfriend: Normally I’m all over all the boyz. But director boyfriend is RICH. He wanted a plaything. I wanted new furniture. Don’t judge. You should have seen my old stuff. I know he’ll toss me aside shortly, but right now, I’m on the highway to B-List Party City.

BFFs: Corabelle and Tina. I’m hard to be friends with. I know I’m a flirt. I’m as subtle as Miley Cyrus on an award show. So a lot of girls won’t be around me. They think I’ll steal their boyfriends. But I have a code. It’s a serious set of rules I don’t violate, not ever. No boys of friends. No ex-boys of friends. Never ever. So see, I’m not so bad. Just know that if we’re out clubbing, if I see him first, you better stake your claim in a hurry, or else, he’s MINE. (Well, once the director calls a wrap on the current affair.)

You can follow Jenny’s amusing relationship with her movie director in Forever Sheltered. Or her relationship with her Teaching Assistant in Forever Innocent. She’ll probably have a new flame by the next book.

Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid Book Blitz and Giveaway!

Found in Us by Layla Hagen Book Blitz and Giveaway!

Found in Us by Layla Hagen
(Lost #2)
Publication date: July 24th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

**This can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica and Parker’s story.**

All Jessica wants -as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men.

She particularly excels at that last thing. . .

Until her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating.

And enigmatic.

Because underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her crave his touch, Parker isn’t the perfect gentleman everyone thinks he is.

He’s exactly what Jessica doesn’t want, but desperately needs.
A bad, bad boy.

Excerpt :

I decide to use the dress as an excuse to leave early. To my dismay, Parker is leaning against the wall farther down the corridor, one or two turns away from the entrance to the bar. His eyes rest on the stain on my dress for a few seconds and my cheeks flare up instantly. I'm sure he can see the redness in them even in the dim light.
"I have to go," I say. "My dress is soaked."
"I'll drive you home," he says, walking toward me.
"No, you just got here. I'm sure you and Dani have lots to talk about." I actually take a step back, only to hit the wall behind me.
"I'd just drop you off and return. Are you afraid of being alone with me, Jessica?"
"No . . . it's just not necessary. I can take a cab."
"What are you afraid of?" he insists, stepping right in front of me. "That I'll try to seduce you and take you to bed? Do I really strike you like that kind of guy?"
Every inch of my body commands me to say yes. In my experience, men who don't look even half as godlike as he does are after one thing only. But his humiliating rejection all those months ago proves he isn't one of them. And nothing I've seen or heard about him indicated he’s a womanizer. But being so close to him makes it impossible to think rationally.
I push him away, but with one swing he grabs both my hands and pins them against the wall above me. His lips are inches away from mine, the fingers of his free hand tracing the contour of my lips, leaving a trail of fire behind them. He's so close to me that I can feel every single hot breath against my lips. He locks eyes with me, and it's the sight of his blue eyes boring into mine—more than his proximity and his touch—that sets me on fire, causing an almost unbearable pressure between my thighs.
He trails his fingers from my lips down to my chin and then slowly over my neck. I bite my lip when he presses gently with his thumb on the hollow of my neck, then proceeds with his torture farther down. His fingers peruse the hem of my neckline, at the exact point where the soaked fabric of the dress meets my skin, then slip under the fabric. Just a fraction of an inch.
Not enough to actually touch my breast.
But more than enough to send me over the edge.
"Damn you, Parker, kiss me," I whisper. He doesn't answer, the corner of his lips lifting in a delicious smile as he removes his hand from my neckline, letting it fall by his side. His eyes never leave mine. I wait, sucking in my breath, for him to lean forward and kiss me. After what feels like hours, he finally leans forward and kisses me.

On my goddamn forehead.

In the midst of realizing just how sweet the romance can be between them, and all the benefits of their new dynamic, Reagan is informed that her ideal situation has changed. Not only will she need to begin taking on more classes to speed up her graduation date, but she’ll also have to start looking for a job to supplement her fading income. Meanwhile, Ian has chosen to pull out of school once his father is diagnosed with a terminal illness in order to help manage the family business and spend time with him while he still can. Book 1 sale: book 1 - The Boyfriend List - is on sale during the blitz for only 99c

Excerpt :

“You told me I could see.” Reagan was insisting, her back turned toward the

mirror in her bathroom.

Petra was standing over her, make-up brush still in hand, heavy with color on the

tip. “I said you could see when I was done. I’m not done yet. Close your eyes.” Then she

swiped a little color into the crease of Reagan’s large eyes and rubbed it along the lash-
line to create a smoky effect. Next she added a couple layers of mascara, swiped some

red lipstick onto Reagan’s full lips and fluffed the curls around her face that she’d created

earlier in the evening. “Now I’m done. Take a look.”

Petra stood back, beaming with pride at her creation as Reagan swiveled around

to get a good look at herself.

“Oh my god.” The words tumbled from her lips on a breathless whisper of

amazement. “Oh my god, Petra.” Then she leaned closer in, scrutinizing her appearance.

She looked like one of the models she’d seen in the lingerie store pictures.

“See.” Petra was smiling as she pulled out her phone and took a quick picture of

the two of them to upload to Instagram later. “I always told you you were hot. Now will

you believe me?”

“Wow. I guess I’m gonna have to.”

“You’re welcome.” Petra chirped happily as she packed up her tools and walked

out of the room to make herself a drink while Reagan changed into her outfit.

But Reagan was beginning to think she might need a drink herself.

As she added dangling earrings and a bright cocktail ring to spruce up her dress,

she began to wonder to herself what exactly to expect from the evening. Every other first

date she’d been on had been a variation on the casual dinner/movies theme. Maybe a

couple drinks at a popular bar. If she was lucky, really lucky, and the guy had any amount

of romantic streak in him, they might end up at Carrabba’s or The Cheesecake Factory or

some other place that was a step up from average but far from fancy. This was college,

and it was all par for the course when the end result was only meant to be some casual

fun.

But then again, this was Ian she was going out with tonight. And Ian never did

things quite like any other guy. Somehow from day one he’d been plugged in to this

uber-sophisticated, way more mature lifestyle and understanding of how things were

supposed to work than most guys his age. She wasn’t quite sure how he’d managed it, but

it was one of his many appealing qualities. So the status quo was immediately tossed out

the window. And it’s not like he’d given her much of an idea to go on, other than to dress

nice, so the part of her that needed to have things in order and a plan to rely on was a

little thrown off.

Yet she had to admit to herself that the not knowing part had made it that much

more exciting too. Yes, she had known Ian for the better part of her college life, but she

had no idea what dating him would be like. Not really. Because he’d never really dated

a girl before. And the more she thought about it, the stronger the jitters grew that were

working their way up from her core as ideas and images ran through her head. And by

the time she heard the solid knock at the front door, she was practically bursting with

excitement and nerves.

She raced from her room, but backtracked when she realized she’d forgotten

perfume. Spritzing a little of her favorite scent on her neck, cleavage and wrists, she took

one final glance into her full-length mirror and murmured to herself, “Well, this is it.”

Then she nodded in approval and left her room again.

By the time Reagan emerged, Petra had beat her to the door and she could hear

her friend giving Ian the rundown. “I don’t expect you to bring her home tonight. In fact,

I really hope you don’t. But if anything happens to her, sohelpmegod I will hunt you

down and murder you myself. Got it?”

“Yes ma’am.” Came Ian’s good-natured reply, to which Reagan smiled warmly.

Then Reagan rounded the corner of the hallway, and got her first glimpse of him

standing the doorway. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen him in a suit – they’d passed that

milestone already – but damn the man could pull off a dinner jacket like nothing she’d

ever seen before, and the result of his broad shoulders and perfect face dressed up like

that nearly took her breath away.

Apparently the feeling was mutual. She could hear him suck in a deep breath, as

though the first sight of her had far exceeded any expectation he’d put on the evening.

Then he blew it out again - a long, low steady stream of appreciation as his eyes moved

over every inch of her body, lingering at her cleavage then finally meeting her eyes.

His expression had shifted somehow, from an almost casual nervousness to a wicked

sensuality that was asking to devour her. It was a foreshadowing of what was come,

Reagan could feel it in her gut. And if he continued to look at her with those heavy,

darkened eyes and the charming curl of his lip that forced a slight dimple into the side of

his cheek, she might just let him have his way.
